Will Kavalenka and Serabro be labeled as “criminal grouping”?
In the opinion of a Vitsebsk journalist Syarhei Serabro, his flat was searched to find some proofs of his relation to the action conducted by Syarhei Kavalenka on January 7. Syarzhuk Serabro, editor-in-chief of an Internet edition “People’s news of Vitsebsk”, photographed the flag hoisted by Syarhei Kavalenka on the Christmas Tree in Victory Square and posted the photo report in the online newspaper.
According to Mr. Serabro, policemen said that the article of the Criminal Code according to which Kavalenka’s case had been started contained information about crimes performed “by groups of criminals”. The police probably decided to add the journalist to “the group”.
Syarhei Serabro’s two PCs, a camera, a flash drive and even… a disc case with the logo of Radio “Liberty” were confiscated during the search conducted by a police colonel and three majors. Strangers attacked the website of “People’s news of Vitsebsk” on the same day trying to guess the password needed to access the control panel.
