Why was Internet cut off for two hours in Belarus?

Beltelecom points at the problems with the router, while Belpak talks about the problems with the external gateway. Unofficial reports suggest that the most competent engineer is on leave, and there is nobody to sort the problem out.
Internet disappeared at 1100 across the whole Belarus. Only the Belarus-based web site, Skype and e-mail was accessable. At the same time, some Belarusian sites were blocked from the European direction. Internet service provider Atlanttelecom told the European Radio for Belarus the problem was created by Belpak. Belpak admitted the problem but declined a comment on the situation.

"The problem with the gateway remains. Most likely in Russia. We are still trying to find out. But there are also problems on the European direction. I can't say much. This is a confidential information."

Beltelecom spokesman Aliksei Fedarynchyk said there was a problem with the router.

According to electroname.com, Belpak's only competent engineer Bolshakov is on holidays, so there is simply no one to rectify the problem.

Internet services in Belarus were restored by 1300.
