Volha Haidukova: Our son should have been released today

Andrei Haidukou’s mother talked to Euroradio right after the trial. Her son was returned guilty of “attempting to establish contacts with foreign intelligence without traces of treason”.

Volha Haidukova: “They have finally allowed us to meet after 8 months of separation. They said that we might meet in July. But I will try to meet him today. We are all here now: my husband, daughter and me. We are in Vitsebsk and we would like to meet him today.”

They are still sure that Andrei is innocent and that he had to return home with the family today, she said.

Andrei Haidukou was detained on November 8, 2012. He was accused of a crime attempt and treason at first. Vistebsk Province Court sentenced the Navapolatsk opposition activist to 1.5 years of imprisonment on July 1.
