Viktar Harbachou appears in Barysau court
Viktar Harbachou, the leader of the entrepreneurship movement in Belarus, is standing trial in the city of Barysau. He together with his family was detained at a local train station. Harbachou, his wife and 13-year-old son were returning home from the town of Krupki. When getting off a commuter train, an unidentified man started pushing his son in order to provoke a fight. The police arrested Harbachou's family instead of the provocator who managed to run away.
“Initially, we were treated as victims. Now we have become suspects. I don't understand what's going on here…”, Svyatlana Harbachova told the European Radio for Belarus. The woman will be interrogated as a witness during the trial.
She said that one judge had resigned from the trial, but another one was immediately provided. Viktar Harbachou has no lawyer.
