Two nuclear subs collide in the Atlantic Ocean – The Sun

Two nuclear submarines  - the British Vanguard and the French Navy’s Le Triomphant – have collided in the Atlantic Ocean, reports a British tabloid The Sun.

According to the edition, the underwater collision occurred on February 3 or 4. However, the incident has been revealed only now. The British submarine was towed to a port in Scotland.

It was covered with concavities and scratches. “Le Triomphant” reached Brest (France) under its own power – its sonar dome was heavily damaged.

The edition quotes an anonymous representative of the British Ministry of Defense who informed that there was no radiation leakage after the collision.

According to the Sun, both subs had about 250 people on board at the moment of the tragedy.

The French Ministry of Defense has not commented on it yet.
