Two Belarus hackers wanted by U.S.

The United States are looking for two residents of Belarus, who stole over $60,000 from the U.S. revenue authorities.

Aliaksej Pahozhyn, 25, and Dzmitry Huzau, 27, used their IT skills and Internet to obtain personal details of almost three hundred late Americans.

Using the social security numbers and the personal details of the dead, the hackers filled in the tax refund forms for the duties paid by the late in the year of their death. They later transferred the money to their personal bank accounts.

Under the U.S. Federal and State laws, if a person has paid more money than required by the revenue authorities, the difference is refunded at the end of the fiscal year.

The Belarusians, wanted by the U.S. federal law-enforcement agencies, are facing charges of conspiracy and fraud, according to Gazeta.ru
