Supreme Court to study the case of Belneftekhim former chairman in February

The Supreme Court of Belarus will study the case of Alexander Barouski, the former director general of Belneftekhim, in February 2008, Belarus's Prosecutor General Pyotr Miklashevich told a news conference in Minsk.

He noted that Barouski had not refunded the losses that he caused to the government yet, so he could qualify for the bail yet. Barouski was charged with embezzlement and the office abuse, reports Belta.

Several high-ranking officials at Belneftekhim were arrested by the Belarusian internal security service KGB together with Barouski. The case was filed with the Supreme Court in early December 2007.
