Slonim authorities ban gathering of pro-EU activists

Authorities in Slonim, Hrodna region, have denied permission for a rally that is to put forward delegates to the Belarusian European Forum.  Officials told the organizers that they failed to specify the venue for the gathering. Ales Masyuk, an activist of the Movement for Freedom, says that he specified two venues in his application.

 

He said that the rally will go ahead as planned on September 5.
