Singer Kalina to hear verdict next week
Belarus's famous chanson singer Victor Kalina and his wife Svetlana are scheduled to hear their verdict on June 12, the judge at a district court in Minsk said Tuesday during the trial.
Prosecutors request 6 years of imprisonment for Victor Kalina, who together with his wife are charged with forgery.
According to investigators, the couple sold their Mercedes Benz 500 in Russia and later reported its theft and received $34,000 under the insurance policy. The Kalinas pleaded non-guilty, saying they fell victims of a provocation.
