Russia to pay Belarus for pipe land rental

Russia is to pay $5 million annually for the rental of the Belarusian land, occupied by the transit network pipelines, said Georgi Kuznjacou, the chairman of the State Committee for Property of Belarus. Another $3 million will be paid by the entities as a land tax, making it a total of $8 million for the use of the Belarusian land resources for the pipeline transit routes.


According to Kuznjacou, a relevant presidential decree has already been approved by the government and forwarded to the State Control Committee for coutersigning.

Kuznjacou explained that rent would be charged for the object located both underneath and above the mostly woods land, where the pipelines are lying, reports Interfax.
