Signatures for Bykau metro station sent to Minsk Executive Committee
Activists of the civil campaign “Tell the Truth!” organized the action.
The reached Minsk City Executive Committee by metro. Addressing journalists, leader of the campaign Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu reminded that activists wanted a street in the centre of Minsk to be named after the people’s writer of Belarus. However, the executive committee did not approve the idea. “Tell the Truth!” is hoping that a least a metro station can be named after Vasil Bykau.
As Euroradio informed, the activists brought 40 thousand signatures they had collected before. They have also collected about a thousand Minskers’ signatures over the past week.
