Sculptor Henik Loika released
The sculptor served 5 days of detention for coming out with a poster against russification of Belarusian schools on Mother Language Day.
According
to nn.by, a dozen of people met Henik Loika near the
detention center in Akrestsina Street on the day of his release, including
famous pedagogue Lyavon Barshcheuski and Deputy Chairman of the BPF
Conservative Christian Party Yury Belenki.
Loika says that it was his first administrative detention. He had ideas of new
sculptures under the influence of the recent events, he even made some sketches
in prison. However, he didn't show these sketches to journalists - he shows his
new ideas to his wife first.
