Poland criticizes Ukraine due to Euro-2012 and Tymoshenko
President of Poland Bronisław Komorowski has made a corresponding statement.
He urged Ukraine to abolish the laws which
legitimize the term of imprisonment for Ex-PM Julia Tymoshenko as soon as
possible, reports ВВС. The statement of the Polish President concerned
those legal norms which allow to put the politicians under trial for the
political decisions which they took as the country's highest officials.
Let us remind you,
Tymoshenko's complaint about brutal treatment and deterioration of the health
condition became the reason why some European leaders stated they would boycott
the Euro-2012 football championship. Ukraine hosts it together with Poland.
According to
Komorowski, this would never happen if the obsolete legal norms which
contradict the European standards had been abolished in due time.
