Nomination of candidates for Council of Republic members starts
It will last till August 31.
Presidiums of district and city Councils, and districts and city executive committees have a right to nominate candidates for members of the Council of Republic of the National Assembly. Registration of contenders will be conducted by the Central Elections Commission in the beginning of September. After that, 8 members of the Council of Republic will be elected in each of the 6 regions and in Minsk by secret voting. 8 more senators will be appointed by the state leader, informs BELTA.
