Lukashenka: EU did not ask to postpone execution of Kanavalau and Kavalyou

According to Lukashenka, the death penalty of Dzmitry Kanavalau and Uladzislau Kavalyou has become "another tragedy in the life" for him. Also, the Belarusian leader stated that he pardoned only one death convict during his presidency. Let us remind you, the Interior Ministry officially informed about more than 150 pardoned death convicts several days ago.

Lukashenka also said that the EU had never asked him to postpone execution of Kanavalau and Kavalyou. According to the Belarusian leader, the European Union always demanded only to abolish death penalty.

An exclusive conversation of Russia Today's journalist Alyaksandr Hurnou with Alyaksandr Lukashenka took place in Moscow on March 20. Its extracts appeared in some of the Russian media today. In Belarus, they promise to show the interview at the TV-Channel "Belarus-1" after the program "Panorama" on Thursday, March 22.
