Google jokingly threatens to close YouTube for 10 years (video)
Google representatives have stated in a video appeal they want to select the best video for 8 years of Youtube's existence
According to Google, the winner will be announced in 2023, when the refreshed YouTube starts again. At the same time, the
site will show only the best movie and its author
will receive a prize – a MP3-player
and $500 for the next project.
Supposedly, the best videos will be viewed and selected by 30,000
professionals. The jury will include celebrities, popular video-bloggers and most active commenters.
The representatives of the YouTube say
that both Gangnam Style (which scored nearly 1.5 billion page views) and a video of 40 views have equal chances to win.
The hoax appeared on April 1, when the world celebrates the Fools' Day.
