BPF to defend their office since today

24/7 duty in the BPF Party' Minsk office starts on Thursday. Let us remind you, the Soviet district communal services did nor renew the rental agreement with regard to premises, which the BPF had occupied since early 90s. The old agreement expires today, and the party faces a clear prospect of being ousted.

The BPF Party's Chairman Aliaksej Yanukevich said at a press-conference in Minsk that the people who would hold their duty  even at night would try "to prevent illegal sealing of the office".

Yanukevich: "I would like to underline that defense of our office is not just the party's business - we feel responsibility to keep this office not only for us, but for all independent artists, creative people and our political allies".

According to Yanukevich, they took away only the things which were not necessary for the office's proper functioning. The party leaders also stated that cultural events would take place in their office even in the current conditions.
