Our country’s Foreign Minister has met the Pope’s press secretary.

The head of Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirull, is expected to pay a visit to Belarus on June 20-22.

Minsk Archdiocese asked Moscow for self-government and then gave up these plans.

Almost half of the participants were foreigners.

It is a public holiday in Belarus to commemorate the departed on the 9th day after Easter - a pagan tradition tied to the Russian Orthodox calendar.

The Belarus leader has congratulated the Pope on the first anniversary of his pontificate on behalf of the Belarusian people.

He announced it in the TV programme Contours shown on ONT on January 26.
