Metropolitan Pavel wants to become Belarusian citizen (video)
He announced it in the TV programme Contours shown on ONT on January 26.
He discussed the issue with head of the Russian Orthodox Church Kirill before leaving for Belarus and was blessed. Metropolitan Pavel is a Russian citizen who served in Razan.
"I want to work and serve in Belarus as a Belarusian citizen. That is why I want to be naturalized,” the head of the Belarusian Orthodox Church said.
It isn’t “a political trick or step”, Metropolitan Pavel said. “I want to feel at home both spiritually and legally here,” he claimed.
