Patriarch Kirill may visit Belarus in June

Patriarch of Moscow and all Rus' Kirill will visit Belarus in June to take part in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Vladimir the Great who Christianized the Kievan Rus', leader of the Belarusian Orthodox Church Metropolitan Pavel told journalists.

“We believe that Prince Vladimir is in the kingdom of God and celebrate the event. Patriarch of Moscow and all Rus' Kirill will visit Belarus in connection with it. We expect the Patriarch to arrive on June 20, 21 and 22. We are hoping that his schedule will allow him to do it,” TUT.by quotes metropolitan Kirill.

July 28, 2015 is the 1000th anniversary of Vladimir’s death. This day is also considered to be the day of Christianization of the Kievan Rus’.
