Radiation level exceeds norm by 235 times at enterprise near Minsk!

The norm was exceeded by three times when metal was first checked in the open-air grounds of Belkolermet. Rescuers, doctors and representatives of the hygiene and epidemiology centre headed there.

The source of radiation was found in a truck that had delivered nonferrous metal to the enterprise (parts of electrical appliances). The ECM chemical service revealed that the radiation level norm was exceeded by 135 times. Access to the contaminated area was restricted.

Fortunately, there were no casualties. The second check-up showed that the norm was exceeded by 235 times, the ECM press service reports. The source was found – a 6 cm long fragment of an appliance. It was placed in a hermetically sealed container and taken away from the enterprise.
