Police hope missing girl is still alive
Police in the Lahoysk district have continued search for 7-year-old Iryna Kyzhelnaya who went missing on November 23 on her way back home from school in the village of Belaruchy. But although the search effort was stepped up, the girl has not been found yet.
Uladzimir Zhdanenya, the first deputy chief of the local police department, told the European Radio for Belarus, that chances were still there that the girl might be alive.
“We keep on searching. Just like earlier, we cooperate with the military. However, I cannot say anything new at the moment. We work in different directions, trying to obtain operative information. Let's say like this: we still hope that she is alive, because we have not found her body”.
