Phallic symbol in Ramanchuk’s video?

Some viewers noticed a hidden ad in Yaraslayu Ramanchuk’s TV speech. ERB has collected the most interesting examples of subliminal ads (photo, video). Probably everyone heard about the Star of David on American dollar banknotes and hidden ads in songs by Pink Floyd, Nirvana and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. However, Coca-Cola, Pepsi and McDonalds are overall champions in the field of subliminal ads.

Subliminal ads were forbidden in the European Union, USA, Canada and Australia in the last century but you can find hidden messages almost everywhere. The efficiency of such “ruses” is disputable. Anyway, using erotic contrasts for such messages is self explanatory.Some viewers noticed a hidden advertisement in the TV speech made by a presidential candidate Yaraslau Ramanchuk. He was speaking with a poster “Build the new, preserve the best” in the background.

You can see a huge yellow flower with a green stem in the picture. However, if you step back from your screen a bit, only the stem will catch your eye.

“Is there a subliminal ad, namely a phallic symbol, in this seemingly naïve picture?” – we thought and asked Yaraslau Ramanchuk for an explanation. However, he laughed in response to the question.

Yaraslau Ramanchuk: “You need to be very imaginative to see a phallic symbol in a flower. It was not like that and I do not think it could even be possible. Thinking this way, you could see a phallic symbol in every guide-post. It is a kind of free interpretation of the things people can see”.
According to Yaraslau Ramanchuk, the poster was meant to make electors happy in contrast to the gloomy autumn weather. The colours of the flower were not chosen accidentally. The poster was drawn by a world famous Belarusian artist Uladzimir Tsesler. However, the painter also says he did not mean anything but a flower as a symbol of spring.

Uladzimir Tsesler: “There is only a flower. How could you notice a phallic symbol there? It’s a yellow flower with a green stem”.

ERB: However, if you step back and look at the picture you will only see the green stem.

Uladzimir Tsesler: “It means that they (BT – ERB’s note) used a different tint. I made it egg yolk yellow and they probably made it completely yellow. Furthermore, you can notice anything in a flat image. Anyway, it is healthy sex. Or not really healthy?”

An ERB’s listener added oil to the fire. When she was asked whether she had noticed Yaraslau Ramanchuk’s poster during his TV speech, she said:

Listener: “I kept watching at the flower for 30 minutes. I don’t even remember was Ramanchuk was wearing. I looked at the petals and the stem and read what was written in the circle. The poster was a good idea…”
Opinions about the hidden message in Yaraslau Ramanchuk’s poster differed in the editorial office of ERB. The womenfolk agreed that the stem resembled a phallic symbol. However, the men said that the idea was far-fetched.
