Opening Ceremony of 29th Olympic Games to take place in Beijing today
A festive opening ceremony of the 29th Olympic Games will take place in Beijing today. It will start at 8.08.08 p.m. local time (it will be 3.08.08 p.m. in Belarus) in a Beijing stadium “Bird’s Nest”.
More than 10.5 thousand sportsmen from 203 countries will compete for 302 sets of medals during the planet’s main sports event. The teams of China, the USA and Russia are considered to be favourites of these Olympics.
The Belarusian sports delegation will be led by an Olympic ex-champion, head of the Belarusian Fencing Federation Alyaksandr Ramankou. He will carry the state flag. 182 athletes will represent Belarus in 26 kinds of sport during the Olympics in Beijing.
