Mother of Zmitser Zhaleznichenka sues military registration and enlistment office and Homel University
The mother of a Homel democratic activist Zmitser Zhaleznichenka has sent a complaint to the court. She thinks that her son was drafted illegally. Ala Zhaleznichenka informed ERB about it.
According to her, she also complained about the university her son was illegally expelled from.
“We will probably sue the military registration and enlistment office while the complaint is being considered. However, at the moment we are trying to get him a postponement and to interrupt his service in the army. At the same time, we will be settling the issue with the university because they expelled him illegally”.
Ala Zhaleznichenka noted that prejudicial inquiry and finding out opinion of both sides will take place in Savetski District Court of Homel on February 8. Speaking about the complaint about the university’s decision, she noted that the date of the hearing has not been appointed yet because a reply of the Ministry of Education is required.
