Minsk unemployment rate has increased in February

The unemployment rate in Minsk has been growing since the beginning of February 2009. According to officials of Minsk Executive Committee, 300 jobless people have been registered since the beginning of February. Their number has increased by 6.4% in comparison with the beginning of the year. At the same time, the number of vacancies is decreasing. There were 17.600 vacancies in the capital on January 1. The number has decreased by 2.5%. A lot of industrial vacancies have disappeared. Six city enterprises are working half-time now.

Drivers, builders, middle managers, teachers of certain subjects, middle hospital staff and policemen are in demand now. However, the number of economists, lawyers, technically qualified specialists and people having certificates of specialized secondary education exceeds the number of vacancies for them.
