Mick Jagger to produce a rock-n-roll epic

The Rolling Stones’ frontman Mick Jagger, who received last weekend his first Oscar together with Martin Scorsese for “The Departed” is to launch a new project titled “The Long Play".

The idea of the flick belongs to Jagger himself. This “rock-n-roll” epic will depict two fellow musicians, whose life is bound to music industry.

Scriptwriter William Monahan has been invited to adapt the story for the screen, while Jagger and his business partner Victoria Pearman will co-produce the movie.

This is not the first example of cooperation between the legendary “rolling” and Scorsese. In the second half of 2007 they will have released another joint project: a full documentary titled “United Stones”.

The film is devoted to The Rolling Stones, or to be more exact, to the band’s last-year tour titled A Big Bang. Scorsese accompanied the U.S. part of the tour.

Furthermore, ABC is now launching a comedy show “Knights of Prosperity”, produced by Jagger.

Meanwhile, The Rolling Stones are recording songs for the soundtrack of “Ruby Tuesday”, an animation film to be released in 2008.
