Memorial Day of victims of Stalin’s repressions celebrated in Belarus today

Representatives of the society are celebrating the Memorial Day of victims of Stalin’s repressions on October 29. It was established by the civil committee on commemoration of victims of Stalin’s repressions in memory of the events that took place 70 years ago. About 100 innocent people, mostly representatives of the Belarusian intellectual elite, were killed by the authorities in Minsk on the night of October 30, 1937. Actions in memory of the victims will be organized by the committee in Kurapaty today.

The Cross of Torment and the “bench of Klinton” have been restored in the forest not long ago. An expositions and presentations of three literary editions dedicated to victims of repressions took place in Minsk.
