Massive explosion in Tianjin, China (photo, video)

A heavy blast occurred in the docks of Tianjin, China on Wednesday evening. The reason has not been found yet, BBC reports. The blast resulted in a flash and a fire pillar reaching several dozen meters rose above the spot.

Windows and doors were broken by the blast in the houses nearby, the Chinese TV channel CCTV reports. Several high-rise buildings were left without power. The blast was caused by a gas leak, the channel announced. However, the information has not been proved yet.

Nothing has been officially reported about the possible number of victims yet. Photos of people in torn clothes and covered with blood have appeared in social networks. At least 50 people are reported wounded.
