Lukashenka to reshuffle security agencies for poor corruption record?

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has stated this on August 1 at the consultative session on the issues of efficiency of the anti-corruption struggle and the struggle against economic crimes.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka: "The Prosecutor General's Office should in fact become a coordinator of all law-enforcement authorities on the issues of struggle against corruption and economic crimes. The role of regional and district branches of the Office is usually diminished to the reveal of small flaws in the work of these or those structures. Think it over. If you are capable of controlling, than control the entire system, if not - we'll give it some thinking. We will either involve new people, or change the system."

Lukashenka has stated that the Interior Ministry chose the position of waiting in the anti-corruption activity. He has also warned against the selective approach: "There shouldn't be a selective approach as it often happens here, in the field of bringing to responsibility for corruption and economic crimes: like, we know these people, if they broke the law - okay, we will close our eyes to it and secretly warn them somewhere in the baths, at a picnic, at a drinking party or fishing. As for those people - we don't know them, or they are too insolent - let's screw their heads off."

The Belarusian leader has also demanded to liquidate false entrepreneurship and bring the retail goods turnover to order.
