Lithuania suggests cancelling visas for inhabitants of border zone to Belarus

The Lithuanian government has suggested cancelling visas for citizens living in the border zone to Belarus.
The State Secretary of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affaires Davidas Matilionis has informed about it during a forum in Minsk. According to him, consular services of both countries will conduct negations about border cooperation soon.

Lithuania suggests that citizens of Lithuania and Belarus living in the 50-km border zone should be allowed to visit the neighbouring country without visas. Special documents valid for 5 years should be given to them instead of visas.
