Interpol search for kidnapped Belarus woman in Nigeria

Interpol, the international police organization, has joined efforts to search for Iryna Ekpa-Umo, a Belarusian woman kidnapped in Nigeria. The spokeswoman for the Belarus's Interior Ministry, Kaciaryna Samusenkova-Shelegava told reporters that the Interpol's office in Nigeria has been officially requested to help identify the whereabouts of the Belarusian citizen.

According to the Belarus Police, Iryna Ekma-Upo was born 1958 and migrated to Nigeria in 1989. Her parents lived and died in Minsk. But some relatives of the woman have remained in Belarus. The maiden name of the woman has not been revealed.
