Internal price for gas increases by 9.3% in Belarus

Internal prices for gas were increased by 9.3% for industrial consumers on August 1, 2008 – from 145.18 dollars to 158.67 dollars for one thousand cubic metres.
The Ministry of Economy explains that it became necessary to change the price for gas for industrial consumers due to the fact that Russian gas had gone up in price.

Let us remind you that Belarus confirmed that the price for gas changed from 119.6 to 128 dollars for one thousand cubic metres in the second half of July. The country paid “Gazprom” the difference after the results of the transit rate increase had been calculated in Belarus.

The Belarusian government thinks that the price of 128 dollars will not change anymore this year.
