HIV-positive woman convicted for transmitting virus to partner

A 40-year-old woman in the town of Dokshytsy was sentenced to three years in prison on charges of deliberately transmitting the deadly AIDS virus to her sexual partner. The woman was monitored by the local health officials as a HIV positive patient. After doctors learned that the woman had a lover, they had the man undergo a blood test.

The man tested positive but filed no complaints against his lover. The couple is now appealing the verdict on the grounds that they love each other regardless of AIDS.
