Google apologises to black man called ‘gorilla’

Google has apologised to the back user who complained that its application Google Photos had automatically created the category ‘gorillas’ for the photos of him and his girlfriend. Google has a special software for identifying pictures and adding photos to categories.

The news about the incident appeared on Wednesday. New York programmer Jacky Alciné reported it on Twitter. Users of social networks immediately accused Google of racism and the company had to apologise.

The company specialists are working to improve the algorithm and make the software identify black peoples’ photos better now, BBC reports.
