Georgian charged with airplane hijacking attempt in Minsk

The incident occurred on board a Belarusian plane heading from Kutaisi to Minsk (there were 32 passengers including a child on board) on June 10. A Georgian citizen sent a note to the crew and demanded to head for one of the EU member states. However, the pilots landed the pane in Minsk and KGB members convinced the man to leave the plane and surrender. ‘The terrorist’ is in jail now.

Investigators are studying all the details of this case now, BELTA reports. A psychiatric expertise and  handwriting identification will be conducted.
