Georgia fears unfriendly act from Belarus

If Belarus recognizes the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, this will be regarded as an unfriendly act, David Dgalagania, Georgia's deputy foreign minister, said in a statement on February 2, reports the internet portal Georgia Online. According to the Georgian official, it is impossible to make preliminary forecasts, but the beginning of the discussion on this issues does not mean that Belarus will recognize the separatists. At the same time, he admitted that Tbilisi was watching the situation with alarm. Georgia understands what Russia's pressure Belarus is experiencing, Dgalagania said.

The House of Representatives, the lower chamber of the Belarus' National Assembly, has an intent to consider the issue of Abkhazia and South Ossetia recognition on April 2 this year.
