Former youth boss appointed first deputy to president's ideology chief

Usevalad Yancheuski, the former leader of the Belarusian Patriotic Youth Union (BPSM) and ex-MP, has been appointed the first deputy to the chief of the main ideological department at the Office of the President, Yancheuski told the European Radio for Belarus. His predecessor, Uladzimir Kholad, faces criminal charges of corruption and was removed from this position after his arrest.

Commenting on his new appointment, Yancheuski noted that he did not serve aby longer of the editor-in-chief of Planeta magazine as some media report.

Usevalad Yancheuski: "I stopped working as the editor-in-chief long time ago. I can explain. Journalists often confuse the notions of the chief editor and the chairman of the editorial board".
