Finkevich stands trial in Mahileu, more than a hundred arrived to support him

The hearing of the criminal case against Artur Finkevich will start in Mahileu city court today. More than a hundred people have come to support the youth activist.
Let us remind you that Finkevich spent two years in a penal labour camp and was accused of avoiding his sentence. According to this article he is threatened with three years of imprisonment.

ERB phoned a former political prisoner Pavel Sevyarynets who arrived in Mahileu to support Artur Finkevich. That is what he said about the situation in court and near the building before the hearing:

“There is a queue of 50 people. I think the same number of people can be found in the courtroom. About 20 people are in the street. It is difficult to understand what is going on there. There seems to be a lack of vacant seats for all the people wishing to get to Artur Finkevich’s trial.

90 percent of the present are young people. Virtually every second person is from “Malady Front”. I can see Ivan Shyla from Salihorsk and Yaraslau Hryshchenya from Baranavichy. I noticed Mikola Statkevich and Mahileu opposition leaders.

Journalists seem to have been forbidden to take pictures in the courtroom. Reporters with cameras are leaving”.

ERB will be reporting details of Artur Finkevich’s trial.
