Finkevich: I am grateful to all who fought for my release

Political prisoner and youth activist Arthur Finkevich today was released from prison. In December 2007 he finished his exile term for political grafitti but was again sentenced to one and a half years in prison "for evading punishment".
However, Ihar Proshka, a judge at the Mahilyou Regional Court, today ruled to free Finkevich. Dozens of people came from across Belarus to welcome his release.

In an interview with the European Radio for Belarus, Finkevich said:

“I feel that in my case as well as in the cases of Dashkevich, Autokhovich, Lukashenka conceded to the West. No doubt, I am very grateful to Malady Front members, friends and relatives who fought for my release and organized campaigns. I am also grateful to the Solidarity committee and to Alexander Milinkevich personally who pushed for our release through diplomatic channels”.

Arthur Finkevich says that he feels okay and is going to continue his civil activities.
