EU opens doors to migrants but not from our region

The European Union plans to expand the reception of migrants from the third countries. For this purpose, a program of joint actions is being developed in order to create additional financial incentives. The talk is about increasing the number of migrants that arrive from the hot spots like Iraq, Somalia, Sudan and some other African countries. But EU official stress that every EU member state will be able to determine the number of migrants it is going to receive.

In 2008, EU countries accepted 4500 refugees from the crisis regions, while US received almost 60,000.
