EU may prolong Russia sanctions for 6 months

The EU has approved the prolongation of Russia sanctions for six more months – until January 2016, Reuters reports.

The final decision may be made at a meeting of the EU Ministers in Luxemburg on June 22, RBK notes. The sanctions may be prolonged technically (without any additional discussion).

The sanctions imposed on Russia were connected with the fulfillment of Minsk agreements in March. The agreements must be fulfilled until the end of 2015. It means that the sanctions will be automatically prolonged for this term.
