EU may abolish visas for Eastern Partnership member states

EU's Eastern Partnership program envisages the abolition of entry visas for member states: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. This provision is stipulated in a draft resolution of the EU Summit that opened on Thursday in Brussels. The document notes that the steps towards the liberalization of the visa regime with these countries will be taken in a long-term perspective and individually.

At the same time, the draft resolution stresses that the Eastern Partnership program should not be regarded as a "backdoor" for EU expansion.
