Driver who crashed "live shield" faces criminal charges

A prosecutor's office has opened a criminal case against Raman Mentsyuk, 27 who on March 2 crashed into the "live shield" of vehicles with people inside on the Minsk-Mikashevichy highway. The cars were stopped by the traffic police in order to detain the drunk overspeeding drivers, Prosecutor General's Office told the Belapan news agency.  Several people were injured during the accident.

In another development, a criminal case was opened against four traffic police officers who participated in the notorious car chase.
