Civil activist heavily beaten in Pinsk

Kanstantsin Chuvak, a member of the committee that is organizing a local branch of the For Freedom! movement in Pinsk, was heavily beaten on January 2 by a local resident who claimed that he had been allegedly degraded by the activist.
The man kicked Kanstantsin's face, threatening that police and KGB "would take care of you".

The injured activist called for an amulance on the next day when his condition deteriorated. On January 4, he underwent a surgery on his face. Chuvak filed a complaint against the hooligan. However, he does not rule out that the case could be turned against him.

One of the investigators who are probing his complaint talked to Chuvak in a very tough way, threatening with prosecution for false testimonies. "He was a real bully", Kanstantsin said. He admits that he could have become a victim of the planned provocation.
