Bresters receive provocation leaflets signed on behalf of independent candidates

Strangers have put provocation leaflets on behalf of BNF activists and of the Belarusian Social-Democratic Party (Hramada) in mail-boxes in Brest. The authors of the leaflets said that independent candidates were going to cancel all benefits, increase the pension age and fight the Russian language. The head of the regional affiliate of the SDP (Hramada) Ihar Maslouski considers the incident to be an example of “a mean and dirty technology” urged “to discredit our party structures and other candidates”. He has given an interview to the BelaPAN agency and claimed that the BSDP (Hramada) will try to start a criminal case and punish the people who organized the provocation.

The strangers speaking on behalf of the BNF Party and of the BSDP (Hramada) support “free elections”, “nationwide privatization”, “European standards: cancellation of all benefits and increase of pension age”, they are against “the Russian language and their rules in Belarus”. The leaflets contain extremist and xenophobic appeals.
A printing house “Renascence” situated in Dragobych (Lvov Region, Ukraine) is mentioned in the date-line.
