Brest water foul smell caused by water intake accident

Brest Regional Centre for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health told BelaPAN that  this  conclusion was based on the results of laboratory tests of water samples for chemical indicators.

Water samples taken from three of the four wells on the intake and exit did not meet the health standards for odor and oxidation. Results of sample analyzes for microbiological indicators have not yet been made public.

According to the data taken on morning of September 3, there were no registered cases of intestinal infections among the population. Residents of the district are encouraged by the authorities to continue using imported, bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking and domestic purposes as well as adhere to personal hygiene rules using antiseptics for hands.
