Belarusian weapons could reach Columbian insurgents – Spanish mass media

Venezuela was going to supply weapons to Columbian insurgents from the Revolutionary Armed Forces with the help of Belarus. A Spanish newspaper “El Pais” informs about it. The edition refers to its own sources in the Columbian government. It was said that a secret document had been found in the PC of one of the leaders of insurgents Raul Raers killed on March 1. This is a letter of one the leaders of insurgents Raul Raers informing that Hugo Chavez “has discussed the possibility of weapon supplies with the Belarusian authorities”.

It bears the date of February 2008. The letter also informs that “a delegation of high representatives” from “the Belarusian friend” will arrive in Caracas. According to “El Pais”, “the friend” may be Victar Sheiman, the state secretary of the Belarusian Security Council. He visited Venezuela in the middle of February.

According to BelaPAN, the Security Council has not commented on the information yet.
