Belarus takes over presidency of Eurasian economic union

The presidency of the Eurasian economic community has been passed over to Belarus, according to the decision approved Friday at the grouping'a summit in Bishkek.
The leaders of the community member countries unanimously voted for the election of Alexander Lukashenk as the chairman of the Eurasion Economic Community's inter-state council.

Belarus prime minister Siarhei Sidorski has been elected as Lukashenka's deputy, reports Interfax.

This position is rotated annually.
