Belarus buys grain from Russia in the midst of harvesting campaign

Belarus has collected over 2 million tons of grain so far, report the government-run media.
Experts note that the pace of the harvesting campaign is significantly higher against the previous year, with an average of 5 percent of grain collected daily.

The harvest has been collected at over 30 percent of the cultivated lands.

At the same time, the Russian news agency AgroFact ( “АграФакт”) reports that a government delegation from Belarus recently visited Russia's southern Stavropolye region.

The Belarusians came with a surprise proposal, the Russian agency notes.

The delegation sought to buy 200,000 tons of foodstuff wheat and 500,000 tons of fodder wheat at the moment the grain harvesting campaign was in full swing in Belarus…
